Namaste. A word that you often hear when you think of yoga. Either you’re thinking of that or the awkward poses that you just can’t ever think of getting yourself in. Could it also be that you don’t see how bending yourself up like a pretzel could assist you in staying healthy and fit. Mentally and physically. Don’t worry I was the same person that felt this way once upon a time. If my action packed high on life energy self can do yoga then you can too and love it.

Learn how to give into the universe. Let yourself free and listen to the sound of your breathing. Once you learn how to focus that’s when everything seems to be so clear.
My mother would recommend that I should do yoga due to my stress that I would so very often display when life would become a little too unbearable. I used think to myself, how in the world is that going to serve my ultimate purpose. Losing weight and taking out the stress with hardcore cardio. I believed that the aggression that I was supposedly taking out during my cardio sessions was enough. Little did I know that I needed to give myself some woosa time. Just like Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys. Meditation and yoga has been the ultimate saving mechanism for me. Yoga takes all the kinks out of my body. FYI, we hold stress in certain joints and muscles in our bodies. Yoga poses tap into those not so thought about ligaments that need a little bit more attention.
The hardest part, but the most simplest part is learning how to breathe. I would say that breathing is about 98% of the whole practice. Focusing on your breathing allows the body and the brain to come together. Oxygen to the muscles gives them the mobility without the strain. Have you ever done strength training and it was such a pain? Well a lot has to do with your breathing. Yoga taught me that plus gave me some simple static strength moves that definitely provides physical results. Tight and lean baby!
Meditation. This beautiful practice is precious. From one that suffered tremendously from anxiety attacks. Meditation has been my rock. Like literally. If you know me then you know me. I run a whole ship, so due to that I’m under high stress, but with success comes more problems and responsibilities. This doesn’t have to take us under. This is why I make it a mission of mine to meditate with my crystals or in the tub soaking. One can meditate everywhere, but whatever you do. Map out time to do just that. This time allows you to kill all the noise around you and focus on your thoughts. You’ll realize that you’re more than likely scattered and paying attention to the wrong thing. Meditation assists with this.
So, if you ask me if I believe yoga and meditation is essential. Then I am definitely going to tell you a big YES! The energy it provides, the flexibility, strength training, and mental clarity is all worth it. Check out my Yoga YouTube videos.
