VvIDA V’NOG (Holiday Nog)
As a kid I enjoyed drinking eggnog. Oh my how delicious this smooth and creamy drink would delight my tender soul. You know how much I love pumpkin spice! Eggnog has all of that and some! Therefore I love this drink. The only problem that I started to develop as I became older, was that eggnog would make me feel awful after drinking it. I couldn’t understand it at first. Until I realized that I couldn’t drink milk anymore. I unfortunately suffer from what a great amount of people do on this planet and that is lactose intolerance. How hurtful it is to know as a teenager that you can’t enjoy ice cream, cheese on pizza, milk shakes, and etc. I had to find another way to please my dairy love. That’s when my family converted to soy milk. Soy milk was a great alternative at the time and still is. But, as I became more knowledgeable about plant based alternatives and all. I started to explore rice milk( I make a mean horchata by the way), almond milk, coconut milk, oat milk, and etc. These have been a life saver.
With all of that being said, I have found a way to satisfy my eggnog craving without the eggs or dairy. There are brands that offer ready made vegan nog, but sometimes they’re hard to get a hold of. This is why I created my own and I’m sharing it with you! See recipe below. Happy Holidays and Enjoy!
